Absolutely Studio
Director + Lead Artist
2020 - present
Absolutely Studio is a mural production team that brings large scale painted works to life on behalf of all kinds of great artists, illustrators and creatives alike.
My role as the founder and a Lead Artist makes me solely responsible for the entirety of the business.
My duties extend from the day to day operations to leading productions and all of the necessary behind the scenes tasks.
Key Responsibilities
◾ Managing enquiries and overseeing projects from first enquiry through to painted production
◾ Tailoring creative solutions for varied and often site specific projects
◾ Curating, briefing and training teams to meet tight production deadlines
◾ Delivering responsive communications, assurances and feedback to clients
◾ Creation of digital assets for web (website, instagram, pitch docs)
◾ Planning all timelines including, travel, accommodation, machine hires, artist bookings
◾ Artworking designs ready for production and preparing installation guides for teams
◾ Negotiating costs, budgeting, invoicing and wages
Key Achievements
Mentorship and skill development
Productions are often highly challenging, both in the application and with short turnarounds. I’m proud to have been able to provide not only employment but mentorship and support to team members. I’ve done so by making room to develop skills through solid time management and my understanding of team member skillsets.
Addressing Artistic Disparities
Recognising a lack of inclusivity, we’ve been able to facilitate projects for both outsiders to public arts but most importantly underrepresented individuals within the arts as a whole. In doing so we’ve been able to champion the voices and narratives of artists whose stories can often be overlooked, fostering a more inclusive and diverse cultural landscape.
